My problem is I have about 30-40 dell laptops in our local office and I can't afford to do repair install for each one of them, each cycle took me at least an hour. The only I can get it back is by doing a Repair installation of Windows 10 using ISO image and I tried this even on a domain-joined computer and it works. I have removed it from domain and clear GPO cache but still unable to get Microsoft Wi-Fi direct virtual adaptor to show up in device manager. Microsoft Wi-Fi direct virtual adaptor is missing in Device manager. Upon running gpupdate on client machines, all the surface pros have no issues doing Miracast now however the dells still do have a problem. Upon checking, this was the cause of the problem, we have upgraded it to Windows Vista or later releases and ensure wi-fi direct is allowed. Our Default Domain Policy GPO initially have a Wifi policy of Wireless XP Type. We have mixtures of Dell Latitude laptops and Microsoft Surface Pros. On first attempt, all our client machines Miracast is not supported when pressed Windows + Kĭoing research, all our client machines have supported hardware to do Miracast.
